I joined Prince Henry’s as an NQT in 2009 and have had a fantastic experience at the school ever since. I find my role as Professional Mentor so rewarding and feel very humbled to be able to help support you to become an outstanding practitioner. I have progressed to become Deputy Head of Maths and have had several years’ experience working with ITT trainees in the Maths department, including working as the subject mentor. These roles have enabled me to continue to develop as a teacher, inspiring me to always aim for the highest standards and help you strive for these too. I look forward to working with you on your training. Enjoy!

I have always found the school to be incredibly supportive, full of expert colleagues with great ideas to share and inspiring lessons to observe. I have been involved in Initial Teacher Training for many years and find it a privilege to mentor and support student teachers. There is always something new to learn in teaching and every day is different and exciting. I look forward to working with you as you begin this fantastic career.

Mrs H Parnell
Subject Pedagogy Lead for English (BA, MRes, PGCE, NPQML)
I have been an English teacher for 5 years here at Prince Henry’s and feel particularly passionately about the ITT course as it was my route into teaching. I was in the first cohort of trainee teachers to embark on this profession through the ITT programme with Prince Henry’s, and so I feel strongly that it is an excellent route that perfectly prepares you for the profession and all it brings. Working with young people to develop their love and skills within English is a privilege and honour, and to see the delight on their faces when they achieve the grades they deserve is so rewarding. Also, guiding the next generation of teachers has been the best form of professional development for me as it allows me to be constantly reflective and striving for more for my trainees and pupils. To be able to lead the English course for Prince Henry’s and South Worcestershire ITT is a real privilege and I am looking forward to working with you throughout your training year.
Mrs E Griffiths

I have supported trainee teachers from a variety of backgrounds as a subject mentor and have also worked collaboratively with colleagues from the USA and Europe. I joined Prince Henry’s in 2015 and was previously Head of Humanities Faculty at a large comprehensive in Gloucestershire. I look forward to working with new entrants to the profession, ensuring that they have the effective support they need to build a rewarding career.
